Eurofighter Offensive. The manufacturer announces large orders
According to Defence24, Giancarlo Mezzanatto (Chief Executive Officer for Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH), revealed that he is optimistic about the future of the Eurofighter Typhoon program. Political support and product quality are the two most important ingredients for the success of the project. The fourth-generation European fighter jet entered service in 2003. In 20 years, the consortium has delivered 589 aircraft, which have already completed more than 800,000 flight hours and this number will soon reach 1 million.
Eurofighter has received orders for 680 fighters in 20 years. However, Giancarlo Mezzanatto believes this is not the limit. The CEO expects the consortium to receive new orders for 150 to 200 aircraft over the next two years. The program has boosted technology and qualifications in Europe. The planes were made at the end of the last century to protect Europe. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Typhoon remains the backbone of European defense. The fighter jets conduct air patrols on NATO’s eastern flank and have already fought ISIS in the Middle East.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that IPP has been supplying parts for the Eurofighter for many years, contributing to the successful production and operation of the aircraft.
