For one of our customers in the aviation industry, we recently completed an exciting project involving a highly customized dual-concentric rotary switch. Together with the Cole Instrument Corp team, we developed a compact, robust solution that integrates a dedicated switching deck along with optical encoder functionality within a dual-shaft architecture.

This project followed a complete development journey:

1. Preliminary Design – Close coordination with the end user to define functionality, envelope, and interface.
2. First Release – A working prototype validated for fit and function.
3. Final Release for Approval – Fully detailed and released for production.

We also developed a fully custom knob solution for this unit – delivering both mechanical fit and visual alignment with the cockpit panel.
